Starting batteries for trucks must perform without disturbances. Up to 80 percent of the battery capacity are needed in the driver‘s cabin for electrical consumers like microwave, coffee machine, stationary air conditioner, mobile devices and so on. After overnight stays this can lead to deep discharging with conventional batteries. Not desirable when the truck driver is already under time pressure and should continue to drive.

A problem, the world‘s largest manufacturer of car batteries faced and extended production of modern truck-batteries with AGM technology. These batteries have a special absorbing glass mat (Absorbent Glass Mat, AGM) which can collect the entire acid in the battery and ensure a high cycle stability. This way, the battery can be repetitively charged and discharged without loss in performance.

The production requires a whole cocktail of different raw materials and additives. Dedusting of the production process with the different additives is managed with Infastaub sack-chutes with integrated cartridge filters of series AJM. All together six of these special filter devices were ordered and allow the safe emptying of product dusts.

The operator places a bag on the support table and fills the content into the sack-chute. The occurring air-dust mixture deposits on the filter cartridges. They are cleaned from the adherent dust by pressurised air. In case of media change, the filter cartridges equipped with a round thread can easily changed from the raw gas side and through the sack-chute front door.

Because of the flammable dust a downstream filter of series MKR is installed. It prevents a filter breakthrough in case of spreading of zones.
